Contingency Corner: Relocation Sites
Relocations are necessary when a crisis warrants moving personnel to a new location within the country of operation.
Relocation is often an escalatory decision following an organization’s decision for personnel to hibernate.
Consider the following when identifying relocation sites:
- Pre-identify conditions that could warrant relocation
- Prepare sites that integrate well with evacuation plans
- Make communication plans, taking into account that phones and internet could be disrupted
- Arrange for food, water, and electricity
