Contingency Corner: Taxis

by | Jan 15, 2024 | Contingency

Taxis are an essential part of urban transit in cities across North Africa.

Consider the following steps to manage risks associated with riding in taxis:

  • To avoid scams, use rideshare services or taxis called by hotels or restaurants
  • Confirm the price before entering the taxi or allowing your luggage to be loaded
  • Sit behind the driver where you can see their eyes in the mirror
  • If at all possible, wear a seatbelt and lock the doors of the vehicle
  • Utilize location sharing/tracking to keep others informed of your location
