Summary:

In early December 2022, Indian firm Larsen & Toubro and the Société Tunisienne de l’Electricité et du Gaz (STEG) announced plans to reinforce the high-voltage electricity transmission line between Sousse and Sfax. The project is estimated to cost 215.5 million dinars and will be funded by the World Bank.

Outlook:  

Our team continues to monitor investment activity in Tunisia as well as infrastructure challenges, particularly those outside of metropolitan Tunis. Reliable power supplies are consistently a challenge for both residential and commercial customers, especially in the summer. Investments in critical infrastructure will help alleviate some operational challenges.
