Street Dogs: Preparation and Response
Street dogs are a common part of life in North Africa.
They move in large packs and can be unpredictably provoked.
Consider the following when you encounter street dogs:
- Preventative rabies shots
- Avoid dogs, particularly packs
- Move confidently and quickly by dogs, but do not run
- If threatened, make loud, aggressive noise and throw rocks or sticks
- Call for help and seek refuge if needed
- Know where to immediately seek treatment if bitten
