Street Dogs: Preparation and Response

by | Nov 12, 2022 | Contingency

Street dogs are a common part of life in North Africa.

They move in large packs and can be unpredictably provoked.

Consider the following when you encounter street dogs:

  • Preventative rabies shots
  • Avoid dogs, particularly packs
  • Move confidently and quickly by dogs, but do not run
  • If threatened, make loud, aggressive noise and throw rocks or sticks
  • Call for help and seek refuge if needed
  • Know where to immediately seek treatment if bitten
