Summary:

On 5 March 2026, Morocco’s Government Council, chaired by Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, approved a series of regulatory measures and senior appointment proposals aimed at modernizing administrative processes and supporting strategic sectors.

The council renewed the satellite telecommunications license for A.S. Cimecom for another five-year term, enabling continued operation of its VSAT network, which provides connectivity in remote or underserved areas. It also simplified procedures for opening and operating private nurseries, aligning with recent laws to digitize and accelerate administrative approvals.

Additionally, the council acknowledged a bilateral agreement with Jordan on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and examined amendments related to export free zones in the Tangier-Mediterranean Special Development Zone.

Outlook:

These measures signal Morocco’s continued push to modernize public administration and make strategic sectors more efficient. The government’s focus on regulatory simplification and sectoral support appears aimed at encouraging private investment, improving service delivery, and strengthening the country’s competitiveness.

Such reforms could enhance Morocco’s attractiveness for both domestic entrepreneurs and international investors, particularly in technology, education, and trade-oriented industries
