Tunisia: NASDAQ-Listed US Auto Parts Maker Expands Engineering Presence

by | Dec 13, 2025 | Economic, Morocco

Summary:

On 12 December, the American automotive group Visteon inaugurated its new technical center in Tunis, in the presence of the newly appointed US Ambassador to Tunisia, Bill Bazzi, and the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Sachin Lawande. The new technical center is part of a planned expansion of Visteon’s existing operations in Tunisia.

According to Visteon, the new center will focus on the development of automotive cockpit technologies, including embedded systems, human-machine interfaces, and digital vehicle solutions. These activities relate to a key segment of the global automotive industry as demand for technically advanced in-vehicle systems continues to grow.

The project includes plans to create 200 engineering positions in Tunisia. Visteon said the roles are intended to draw on local expertise and involve Tunisian engineers in projects with an international scope, as part of the company’s broader strategy.

Outlook:

The launch of the technical center positions Visteon to expand its engineering activities in Tunisia in the future and better position the firm to serve its European and Asian clients. This latest initiative comes after Visteon launched a new plant outside of the capital, Tunis, in 2024.

More broadly, the expansion of operations by a NASDAQ-listed firm will help bolster Tunisia’s case for serving as a host country for automotive software and engineering activities, alongside other multinational technology firms already present in the market.
