Libya: Ghadames Basin Discovery Continues Recent O&G Momentum

On 4 November 2025, Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced a new oil and gas discovery in the western Ghadames Basin, marking a positive development for the country’s re-emerging energy sector.
The discovery was made by NOC subsidiary Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), at well H1-NC4, located within the Ghadames sedimentary basin, an area that extends into both Tunisia and Algeria. According to the corporation’s statement, the well-estimated output is around 4,675 barrels of crude per day and approximately two million cubic feet of natural gas.
